Used Car of the Day: 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle

used car of the day 1972 chevrolet chevelle

Today's UCOTD is a rare one, at least for us -- we tend to pull from the same mix partly because of how we perceive the tastes of the B and B and partly because certain forums are simply more active than others.

Well, today, this 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle floated up into the list I use to pull picks from.

It has what the seller says is a "rare custom" 14-H Pewter paint job with a Buick pewter roof paint job. The car runs and drives but is not number-matching, and it has a 3.73 posi rear end.

A new top is on order.

It's hard to get a sense of condition -- in the lone full-body picture, it looks like it's in OK shape but dirty and perhaps in need of minor cosmetic attention.

I've always thought Chevelles were cool, especially SS models. I think my mom had one, though I am not sure if it was an SS, before I was born. I'll ask her next time we talk.

Either way, Chevelles are right up there with GTOs, Boss/Mach Mustangs, Camaros, and certain Mopar models when I summon the mental image of a "muscle car."

This one asks $19,250 and is for sale in Missouri.
