The Ford F-150 Raptor R is a seriously impressive truck with an equally serious price tag that puts it out of reach for most buyers. An Alabama Ford dealer has a solution, however, in the form of a base F-150 XL with a Roush supercharger and other upgrades.
Town and Country Ford buyers can get into the truck for $46,998 plus taxes and other fees. The entry-level XL trim can be outfitted with cloth or vinyl seats and comes powered by a 5.0-liter V8. Power reaches a surprising 7-5 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque, thanks to a 2.65-liter Roush Supercharger. The truck also has a 3.73 locking rear axle, remote start, a 12-inch gauge cluster, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
It's worth noting that the Town and Country upgrades are not 50-state emissions legal, but Ford offers a different supercharger kit for more than $12,000, but it only boosts output to 700 horsepower and would drive the cost of a base F-150 XL to almost $50,000, and that’s before you pay someone to install and tune it.
Town and Country calls this truck a sleeper, and for once in the history of the world, the term has been applied correctly. The looks on Mustang owners’ faces when they get gapped by what looks like a general contractor’s work truck is worth the money, and the kit even comes with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
