Kia has a hit on its hands with the EV6, the first in a line of unique, futuristic electric models. The larger EV9 is coming soon, with reservations opening next week, and Kia recently announced pricing for the upcoming electric family hauler.

The EV9 is available in five main configurations, ranging from the entry-level Light RWD trim at $54,900 to the top GT-Line e-AWD at $73,900. Buyers can reserve an EV9 with a refundable $750 deposit starting on October 16, and people who make an early reservation get a Kia swag bag with a portable EV charger and complimentary maintenance.

The base EV9 Light gets a single electric motor making 215 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The EV9 Wind gets two motors and up to 379 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. Kia equips an 800-volt electrical architecture to enable fast charging, and the SUV promises up to 300 miles of range in the Light Long Range RWD model.

The EV9 will go on sale later in 2023, and Kia will start manufacturing the SUV domestically in 2024 at its plant in Georgia. While it hasn’t been eligible for federal EV tax credits yet, moving production to the United States will give Kia the final North American assembly it needs to qualify its vehicles.
