Porsche Announces Yet Another PHEV Cayenne Variant

porsche announces yet another phev cayenne variant

There may be some debate as to whether the Cayenne saved Porsche, but there’s no denying its popularity. The growing number of powertrain and configuration options attest to that fact, and Porsche recently announced another. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid will land for the 2024 model year and will be available in coupe and SUV body styles.

With a starting price of $100,750, the SUV version forms a midpoint between the “entry-level” E-Hybrid and range-topping Turbo E-Hybrid models. Though it does nothing to simplify Porsche’s insanely complicated model naming system, the new PHEV offers buyers a more reasonable price point than the $153,000-plus Turbo model.

The new model gets a 348-horse V6 paired with a 174-horsepower electric motor for a combined 512 horsepower and 553 pounds of torque. Porsche promises a 4.4-second 0-60 mph time and 13-second quarter-mile times. Porsche hasn’t yet detailed the PHEV’s electric range, but we expect a mid-50-mile estimate when it does.

Porsche equips 20-inch wheels and adaptive air suspension that helps minimize body movement during hard acceleration and braking. Inside, the S E-Hybrid gets plenty of bells and whistles, and Porsche offers a few new options, including an air quality filtration system. It also gets a digital gauge cluster, an available 10.9-inch passenger display, and the redesigned dash from the latest Cayenne update.
